When Life Sinks: A Call for Help

So what is the answer?

I would like to take an example from the Bible, specifically from the life of Peter. Peter was a strong-willed and determined man. He didn't want to miss out on anything.

When it came to walking on the water, Peter was the only one who wanted to give it a try.

Peter started walking fine, but then he got overwhelmed, fear and panic set in. He cried out to Jesus for help. What did Jesus do when he heard Peter's cry? He immediately reached out to Peter; he didn't let him go down. Or say, "See, I'm trying to teach you something." Or "I won't. You got yourself into this mess, now get yourself out."

No, the Bible says he immediately reached out his hand and helped him. Then what did Jesus do next? It took Peter back to safety, back to the boat.

My friend, when you feel overwhelmed, stuck in a rut, and life is squeezing you, cry out to Jesus, just as Peter did. Jesus will immediately help you and take you to a place of safety.

Stop trying to do life in your own strength; all that will happen is you will run out of yourself. Run out of plans, ideas, and resources.

Call out to God for help, and He will redirect you and show you how to get back on track and restore your life to normal.

God is the answer to every question, even the ones you don't know how to ask.

Read the story of Peter in Matthew 14:22-32.
